Hello everyone,
My name is Manon Hedd. I'm 22 years old and I am the language assistant for the academic year. I come from a small town in North Wales where I live with my parents and twin sister. Wales is a very beautiful country and has a very similar landscape and climate to Galicia.
Although I'm a native English speaker, my first language is Welsh. I went to the University of Liverpool where I studied French, Italian and Spanish and now, I am in Ourense in order to teach English and improve my Spanish.
In my free time, I enjoy horse riding, singing and travelling. This isn't my first time in Galicia. In fact, two years ago, I lived in Lugo for 5 months and I managed to travel around the region and visit many beautiful places such as A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela. But my favourite place was Islas Cies and I can't wait to go back next year!

HALLOWEEN PARTY 2015!!!!!

C.E.I.P. Manuel Luis Acuña

WOAHHHHHHH!!!! What a great experience it was to celebrate Halloween here in Manuel Luis Acuna. I felt at home!!! In fact, I was surpised to see all the scary costumes and decorations on display. I didn´t realize how big of a deal this celebration was, but these are things you learn when you travel. Nonetheless, the celebration in my schools in Wisconsin and here in Luis Manuel Acuna are very similar: there are scary decorations throughout the entire school, candy is given to the children and ALL the students come dressed up in costumes! They are very similar indeed. On the otherhand, a difference I noticed is that here the students like to dress up as scary Halloween characters whereas in the USA we choose a wider array of costumes varying from movie characters to politicians. Anyway, at the end of the day I know we all had a blast learning about English Halloween vocabulary words, American Halloween culture, drinking a magic potion, watching Hotel Transylvania and dancing Thriller with some skeletons! Until next year fellow goblins!
